CM lays foundation stone for Sports Climbing Complex

With climbing getting selected as one of the six new medal disciplines for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games earlier this year, Odisha Government made the first move in the country today for setting up of infrastructure facility for the sport here at Kalinga Stadium. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for construction of a Sports Climbing Complex with facility for Speed Wall, Lead Wall and Bouldering.

According to an official press release, the first-of-its-kind complex in India will be constructed as per norms of International Federation of Sports Climbing (IFSC) between two synthetic hockey grounds of Kalinga Stadium. M/s Outdoor Schools, New Delhi, representing M/s Enter-prizes, France has been selected as the executants through a bidding process with a cost of Rs 3.70 crores.
